Coming Up for Air

I admit it I have been AWOL.  I guess that is what happens when you are busy having fun.  I think to catch up I will summarize the last few days then provide some awesome trailer tours to follow.  Then I'll do so more catching up again with what is happening.

When I arrived at Stub Stewart Oregon State Park where the Glamper Event was to be held I was the only vintage trailer I saw.  That was about to change!
While driving through Portland, what did I find..... but a Camper World.  So I did the exit circle and made my way back to visit a BIG Camper World.  I did make a purchase, a big one.  I purchaced a compressor refrigerator/freezer.

It can be used as a refrigerator or a freezer by choosing the temperature that you want it to function at.  I will use it as a freezer to make ice and to also store some meat.    I have been using 2 -3 bags of ice a day.  Boy does that add up.  Actually it is a small version (when you have a small trailer everything needs to be small) and uses very low amps so It can be used with my solar.  I will have to let you know how it goes.  I may need to add another battery to store enough power and not drain the battery.

When I arrived at Stub Stewart Oregon State Park where the Glamper Event was to be held I was the only vintage trailer I saw.  That was about to change!  Soon little vintage campers would begin to arrive and set up for the glamor camping PARTY.  I was tired so I just did the minimum set up for the night.  Decorating could wait until I was fresh.  I did take a bike ride around the camping loops.  This is hilly country and deeply forested. Some rest for the night and I was ready to glamp!

Here are some shots of my set up.

I set up my tent for a fellow glamper, Diyo who joined my camp on Friday for the weekend.  To the right of the tent is the kitties tent.  They are still not as fond of it as I am. It sets up in about 45 seconds and I like for them to be there when I am cleaning the trailer  to keep them out of the way.

I even provide entertainment as the bird feeders are nearby.. But so far they spend all their time trying to figure out how to get out of the tent.  They are more comfortable in the kennel that is attached to the trailer.    It takes much longer to set up but they are happier in it.

The next post, I'll post some of the cutie trailers.
You will love them!

  1. I want to get one of those refrigerators. I have a tiny refrigerator that only works on electric power, it does not switch to 12V or propane. I have seen some on Amazon that can be plugged in when I have hook-ups or can be switched to 12V.
