Life Keeps Happening

Things can be going great and then they are not.... What is with this!!!!

Answer me a question.

WHY????

I ordered the U haul truck for Saturday and then A call from the realtor revealed the new buyer suddenly finds himself jobless. His last paycheck coincides with the closing date.  This is not a good thing.... Not at all how the carnival ride is 'suppose' to go.  They are scrambling to get something together... if not the house will be back on the market Friday.

I was certainly prepared to fully appreciate the house selling.
I was more than thrilled!!

I have heard that the deal is not sealed until the money is in the bank.
I am certainly a believer... Now!
I am giving myself a pep talk as we speak.
I refuse to give up.... I know that the right buyer at the right time will be here.

And finally on this subject....

There is always time for panic later!

Keep positive thoughts for me I will keep you posted.

So that seems like enough bad news for one day.... Right???

NOPE!!

The universe was not done yet.
I got a call regarding my daughter.
She fell a broke her pelvis and is in the hospital.  So I dragged my still feeling sorry for  myself up to the hospital.  There is nothing like other peoples troubles to put yours into perspective.  It looks like she will be in the hospital until a spot opens up at a rehab facility and then she will be there for a couple of weeks.
She ordinarily uses an electric wheelchair so transfers are always difficult and now, impossible.  I will probably end up sticking around until she is back at her home where the care givers can help her.... Until then she wants her Mom and truth be told I want to help her too.
You are never done with being a Mom.

These are real life kinds of difficulties.  They continue even when you change your circumstances.  My new lifestyle does allow me more flexability that when I was responsible for a full time job, foster children and a barnyard full of animals.

I remain adaptable and that is something that you need whether you live on wheels or in a stick and brick home.  I remain committed to the life changes in progress and will be moving forward.
I found this in a blog post and shall hold on to it through these challenges.

So hold us up with positive thoughts....  I'll keep you posted.

  3. You have an amazingly good attitude. But, really, what else can you do? I guess you could have a pity party of one but that would just make you miserable.

Everything will resolve shortly and you will be on the road when the time is right.

Being there for your daughter is very important.

Best of luck to you in your home sale.

  4. Oh Karen I'm so sorry for all of this. I didn't get to read your post until now. My internet connection in the park I've just moved to is terrible so my comments and postings are going to suffer.

It sure seems that you were flying so high and now you've got some real turbulence. Someone sent me this bit of knowledge from the Dalai Lama and I think it might be of some help.

"If a problem has a solution, there is no need to worry. If a problem doesn't have a solution, there is no need to worry."

I feel really sorry for your buyer. Losing your job is a serious catastrophe in life. I know your house will sell itself. For you both, I'm sorry it looks like it won't be to him. My very best to your daughter in her healing. I too would want to be with her to help all I could so that is what you will do now while your realtor sells your house.
As you have said, a mother is always a mother and when I am feeling hurt, I sure wish I could have mine by my side.

You and she are in my thoughts.

  5. Checking in for the first time in awhile since I haven't had internet access. Sending healing thoughts to your daughter. The house will sell, at some point.

  6. My goodness! Just when things were going so well! Isn't that just like life. I'm sure the "buyer" is very disappointed too. I'm sending good thoughts to you and your daughter.

  7. We have bought and sold a dozen houses over the years, and I've always been a nervous Nellie until closing is over and the money is in the bank. You go to all the trouble of boxing up all your possessions, selling and/or moving furniture, cleaning, passing inspections....and then the deal falls though for some reason other than your own!!! A seller should be able to close, THEN move out. So Sorry!!!

  8. I have heard and seen the job loss just when you make a big move in life as happened to your buyers.

And now your daughter has her problems and yes we are always going to be a mom.

Keep the faith it will happen when the time is right.

  9. there are no words. When you talked about your daughter's accident and subsequent injuries I thought to myself that this wrinkle in plans wouldn't get you down for long. We are always moms first and will move heaven & earth to get to our babies when needed. I figured this was a short term glitch.

Then, the right hook. I am so sorry this has happened with the house. For you and for the buyer. We had that happen when we sold our house in Durham many years ago. Our buyer's house sale had fallen through so she was not able to proceed with the purchase of ours. What we ended up doing was leasing it to her until she was able to sell hers again. Of course she had a great job which your buyer doesn't have. Is the buyer in a field that will allow them to become re-employed quickly? I hope so for your sake.

Again, if there is ANYTHING I can do, let me know. You know I have a good shoulder and a pity party with two is definitely better, not to mention some brainstorming might help. Let me know and I will call on the house phone to safe your minutes! Big girl panties on and keep telling yourself it will work out, just maybe not as fast as you want. Love you.

  10. We thought our house was sold when we left FL, but the deal fell through a month later. We went back, listed it with a realtor, and she had it sold a month later. Didn't even have to return for the closing. So I hope for your sake another buyer comes along soon. Life is always an adventure, but not always a good one!
