Last Glimpes of Fall

All too soon fall is waning and winter is knocking at the door.

Clinging to the last moments of fall, I head out with camera in hand to savor the last and best that fall has to offer.

Foggy mornings breaking into bright, beautiful crisp Fall days are perfect for a local journey of solitude.

When the early morning fog burns off,
the colors of fall reveal themselves

Familiarity often  blinds me to the beauty around me.  When I go about my life without taking the time to really see the beauty, I miss out on the glory of each day.

I've dreamed of seeing the Aspens of Colorado, the rolling hills of the Shenandoah, and splendid glory of New England in the fall.

Instead, dreams of far away places can rob me of the special moments available for experiencing each day.

There to be claimed and treasured.

The beauty of a single tree, ablaze in color framed by a picture, helps me appreciate all that is around me, sometimes but a glimpse.

Other times,
there is a forest of color
if I only take the time to find it.

Sometimes it is far... but other times within an arms reach.

Learning to savoring the beauty surrounding me, is a life lesson I anticipated learning while RVing full-time.  Rather it is a lesson I have been graced to learn in the autumn of my years,
in the familiar place of home.

Take time, enjoy today, where ever you are.
